The risks concerning electrical equipment should be taken very seriously! Ensuring electrical safety in the workplace is our area of expertise! The vulnerability of workers using electrical equipment daily puts an emphasis on how crucial it is to always maintain and be aware of the safety and state of the equipment.
It is your responsibility to stay up to date with the testing and tagging of electrical equipment to avoid potential injuries, accidents and the hefty fines that come with being non-compliant. With our professional service, we’re here to help you stay informed and make sure your workplace is safe for both your staff and your customers.
When using Maintag’s test and tag service, we’ll come in and do a visual safety inspection followed by electrical testing using a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT). Each item will then be tagged for record purposes and we will advise you on the best way to maintain and repair damaged equipment.
Almost anyone can do a test and tag course and rely solely on the equipment to try get the job done. However, it is always best to hire a licenced electrician to do the job. Unlike a person that does a one-day course, we can understand the test results, find faults and repair any problem that we detect.
Depending on the nature of work, regular and additional testing is required. We understand the requirements that are set out in the AS/NZS 3760 Australian Standard and advise all our clients on best practices and how to stay compliant.
Building a long-term relationship with an electrician that provides test and tag services is ideal because of the termly maintenance requirements. The term requirements of test and tag maintenance is dependent on the industry and frequency of use of the equipment. Where construction companies will require testing and tagging every few months, an office workspace may only require the service every few years.
Our team conducts safety checks for any and all electrical appliances & equipment
To ensure that appliances and equipment are functioning properly, are not damage and pose no danger to the lives of workers, it is important that they be regularly inspected, tested and tagged. However, the frequency of testing and tagging is heavily dependant on the environment the appliances are used in.
Some industries have an environment where appliances are at risk of being exposed to physical abuse, moisture, dust and corrosion. Appliances in these hostile environments require frequent testing to ensure they are functioning optimally.
